Adolphus Miller
Adolphus Miller passed away last Friday morning after nearly a week’s suffering from a paralytic stroke. Mr. Miller was found upon the floor of his farm house a week ago last Saturday by Walter, Bert, and Claude Miller, who had went out to the farm to work. He was found by them, instead of by neighbors as the Echo stated last week. The Echo had been misinformed.
Mr. Miller had fallen upon the floor while he was preparing to go to bed. Dr. Liggitt was called immediately after he was found and brought him to his home here at Farnam. Doctors found that he had suffered a paralytic stroke from which he failed to recover in spite of all that loving hands could do.
Adolphus Miller was born June 17, 1867 at Osceola, Iowa. Departed this life April 14, 1933 at Farnam, Nebraska. Aged 65 years, 9 months, 28 days.
His early childhood was spent in Iowa. At the age of ten he moved to York, Nebr., where he grew to manhood.
He was united in marriage to Alma L. Shaw, September 14, 1887. To this union was born ten children. One son, Archie, preceded him in death.
He has lived in the vicinity of Farnam since 1892, when he homesteaded in Dawson county.
He was a kind and loving husband and father. A man of sterling character, he will be greatly missed in this community.
He is survived by his wife and nine children; Angie and Bert of Farnam; Mrs. W.T. Woodard, Los Angeles, Calif; Claude of Atkinson, Nebr.; Mrs. R. B. Trimble and Dolphie of Topeka, Kan., Mrs. R. A. Foss of Smithfield, Nebr.; and Walter and Hugh at home. Three brothers, two sisters and sixteen grandchildren also survive him.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church of Farnam at 2:30 o’clock Sunday, April 16th, conducted by Rev. E. C. Barton.
Internment was made in the Farnam cemetery.
