Harve McNickle

Harve Ray McNickle died at a Gothenburg hospital, Nov. 9, 1965, at the age of 75. He was the son of Arthur and Sarah Rhodes McNickle and was born at Grafton on Oct. 10, 1890. At the age of two, he moved with his family to Farnam where he lived until his death. His last 72 years were spent on the farm west of Farnam.

While yet a youth he joined the Farnam Congregational Church and remained a member till it dissolved at which time he joined the Methodist Church.

He married Lillie Burrows on Oct. 10, 1916. To this marriage 4 sons and 2 daughters were born before Lillie died on August 12, 1950. He was married to Ruth Harris on November 30, 1952.

He was a member of the Farnam Lions club, had been a member of the Co-op Elevator board. He had been a member of the church choir and McNickle male quartet for many years.

Preceding him in death are two grandchildren. His survivors include his wife, Ruth; 4 sons, Rex of Lancaster, Pa., Glen of Billings, Montana, and Verne and Dale of Farnam; 2 daughters, Ethel, wife of Vernon Thomsen of Hershey, and Elaine, wife of Bernie Lindvall of Farnam: 4 step children, Ida Ruth Wesslund, Frances Keevil, Doris Kramish and Jim Harris; 16 grandchildren, 19 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; one brother, John of Sacramento, Calif. and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
