FARNAM — A longtime resident of Farnam area, Roy Maurer, 89, of Farnam, died today at a Grand Island hospital. He was born July 28, 1888, at Lexington and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include one brother, Earl of Gothenberg; three sisters, Ella Hilton and Florence Lyons, both of Salem, Ore., and Lila Heath of Gothenburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the McVay Memorial Chapel at Gothenburg with the Rev. Thomas L. Rempel officiating. Burial will be in Farnam Cemetery.
