Pioneer Called to Rest

Mrs. S. J. Martin, aged 80, passed away yesterday afternoon at about 1 o’clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. D. Stebbins, after an illness of about three weeks resulting from an attack of la grippe and paralysis.

Mrs. Martin leaves a daughter, Mrs. M. D. Stebbins; a son, J. H. Martin; and a brother, J. L. Robinson; and a number of grandchildren and friends to mourn her loss.

The funeral services will be held at the Methodist church tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. C. A. Irvin, pastor of the Baptist church officiating.

Obituary

Sarah Jane Robinson was born in Saganaw [sic.] county, Illinois, December 11 1835. Died January 12, 1916. Age 80 years, one month and one day. Was married to Nathan Martin in 1862. To this union nine children were born, all of which have passed on before except one daughter and one son. She came to Farnam from Nemaha county, Nebraska in 1892.

The deceased has been a member of the Christian church since girlhood.
