Mrs. Rhoda A. Martin
Born October 21, 1840, in Moultrie county, Ill. Married to Miles F. Martin in 1859. Mr. Martin departed this life in 1912. To this union were born six children, four daughters and two sons. One daughter, Mrs. Millie Blood was deceased in 1893 at the age of 34 years. The others are Mrs. Norah Westrope of Baden, Okla.; Mrs. Etta Uhlig of Eustis, Nebr.; Mrs. Martha Trindel of Wendel, Ida. The two sons survive their mother; J. O. Martin lives at Grenada, Colo., and J. T. Martin, at whose home Mrs. Martin died, occupies the old home place.
In 1868 Mr. and Mrs. Martin moved to Sullivan county, Mo., and in 187_ to Fillmore county, Nebr. In 189_ they moved to the home south of Farnam, in Frontier county, where Mr. Martin died in 1912.
Three years ago Mrs. Martin sustained a severe fell, which caused her to be practically bedridden until her death. She passed from this world at the age of 81 years, two months and two days.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, having joined about 1888, in Fillmore county.
The funeral was held from the home on Christmas day, conducted by Rev. Fish's. Interment was in Farnam cemetery.
