Mary Ellen Thrasher was born July 29, 1884, at Arapahoe to Henry and Ida Carmichael. At the age of three weeks she moved with her family to Frontier County where she grew to womanhood. She died on Dec. 23, 1980 at the Slack Nursing Home in Gothenburg.

She was united in marriage to John T. Martin on Nov. 28, 1901. To this union three children were born; a daughter, Edith Martin Beery; and two sons, Frank of Maywood and Jack of Farnam. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 24, 1930, and her daughter.

On Aug. 5, 1939, she was married to A. B. Thrasher who also preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1956.

Mary was baptized into membership in the Church of Christ in 1908 and was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She leaves to mourn her passing her two sons, their wives, eight grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one great, great grandson and many other relatives and friends.
