Esther (Dickinson) Martin
Esther Martin, 89, of Brady, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 1990, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hosiptal. Services will be Wednesday, (today) Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Brady. Rev. Dale Coates will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.
Music for the services will be provided by Sandy Burke and Marilyn Bratten, organist. Casket bearers will be Bob Norton, Alvin Jobman, Ted Burke, Robert Russell, Stephen Johnson and Glen Golter.
Martin was born on May 14, 1901, at Little River, KS. She was the daughter of Charles and Effie (Straight) Dickinson. She was married to Lawrence Martin on Jan. 12, 1921, at Stockville. They farmed in the Gothenburg area until 1947 when they moved to Jeffrey Lake. In 1965 they moved to Brady. She was a member of the Brady War Mothers and the United Methodist Church of Brady.
Survivors include one son, Del and his wife, Yolanda, of Brady; two brothers, Gaylord Dickinson of Greeley, CO, and Claire Dickinson of Columbus; one sister, Eva Badge of Stapleton; three grandsons and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence in 1986, and two brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Brady United Methodist Church or to the Brady Rescue Unit.
