Pioneer Passes Away

Word received here Wednesday morning from Henryetta, Okla., states that A. J. Kestler age 57, passed away about 8 o’clock Tuesday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Lincoln.

Mr. Kestler was widely known in this part of Nebraska having resided in this locality since 1880. Definite arrangements as to the hour of the funeral have not yet been decided upon, but the services will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. T. H. Bayley, on Sunday. Interment will be made in the Stockville cemetery.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, four sons, George, Roy, Louis and Charles, and two daughters, Mrs. T. H. Bayley, and Mrs. John Lincoln, besides a large circle of friends.

Obituary

Mr. A. J. Kestler was born in Germany, December 24, 1862, and came to this country at an early age, locating in Illinois, later he located in Nebraska where he had since lived.

Mr. Kestler began failing in about four years ago and spent part of last year at Excelsior Springs, Mo., and other southern points in hopes of gaining his health. At the time of his death he was visiting his daughter, Mrs. John Lincoln at Henryetta, Okla., where he was taken sick, and quietly passed away Tuesday evening, May 22nd.

He leaves to mourn his death a wife, four sons and two daughters.

The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 from the home of his daughter. Mrs. T. H. Bayley conducted by Rev. C. A. Irvin, pastor of the Farnam Baptist church, and interment was made in the Farnam cemetery.

The many beautiful floral offering was proof of the warm friendship and esteem which Mr. Kestler enjoyed during life, and expressed a silent story of regret at his departure from this earth.

The bereaved members of his family have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
