Mrs. F. B. Kerr Dies

Mrs. F. B. Kerr of Waterloo, Iowa passed away on Friday at her home. A former Farnamite, she with her husband left Farnam over 25 years ago to make their home at Waterloo, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Farnam Methodist church with Rev. J. Russell Mead officiating.

Mrs. Harold Bick, Mrs. Elvin Peirsol, Mr. Irvin Hess and Mr. Lawrence Oberg sang.

Pallbearers were Roger Stear, Ronald Stear, Irvin Paulsen, Gene Hoppe, Kenneth Kerr and Gerald Thompson.

Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.

Obituary

Alta Mertyce Kerr died at her home at 901 Burton Ave., Waterloo, Iowa at 4:15 a.m. April 23, 1965. She was born August 18, 1876 in [Gosper county], Nebraska, the daughter of Thomas Thompson and Ruth Malinda Harnsberger Thompson. In 1878 they moved to a ranch [on East Deer Creek], where Everett Stevens farms now.

She married F. Byron Kerr December 4, 1901 at Holdrege, Nebraska and they made their home at Farnam until 1939 when they moved to Waterloo.

She is survived by two sons, Fordyce of Blue Springs, Missouri and Gary of Largo, Florida; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Walters of Waterloo, Iowa, Mrs. Catherine Kinman of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Frances Stear of Cozad, Nebraska, and Mrs. Georgia Elder of Waterloo, Iowa; eight grandchilren and 18 great grandchildren.
