Funeral services were held (today) Thursday for Owen Edward Johnson, who died Tuesday following a long illness. The services were held at the local Methodist church, with Rev. Rambo of North Platte in charge. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.

Owen Edward, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Johnson of near Farnam. Sympathy is extended to the Johnson’s in their bereavement.

Owen Edward Johnson was born November 4, 1913 at Farnam, Nebr., and departed this life August 23, 1938 at Farnam, at the age of 24 years, 9 months and 19 days.

He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Johnson of Farnam; five brothers, Francis of Yuba City, Calif., Walter of Noxon, Mont., Lewis of Fairplay, Colo., Marion and George Jr., of Farnam, four sisters, Maude Plourd, McCook, Viola Lehman, Edna, and Norene of Farnam; his special friend, Miss Olive Tolle of Thedford, and other relatives and friends.

Edward spent his entire life at Farnam, except one year and Angora, Nebr., and two years at Thedford, Nebr.

For the last three years his health has beeen failing. Several months of this time were spent in different hospitals, where he underwent numerous operations. His most outstanding characteristic was his unselfishness and patience during his long illness.

Rev. L. Rambo, who had been an intimate of Edward’s, conducted the funeral services Thursday, Aug. 25th at the Methodist church in Farnam.
