Eva Johnson
GRANT — Eva Johnson, 77, a longtime resident of the Elsie area, died Oct. 24, 1991, at a local rest home. She was born April 20, 1914, at Farnam to Harry and Ollie Uhlig Stewart. She graduated from Farnam High School and attended Nebraska Wesleyan for two years, receiving her teaching certificate. She taught country school at Farnam.
On May 22, 1939, she was married to Eugene Johnson at North Platte. They moved south of Grainton and in 1943 they moved to their farm home southeast of Elsie.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1990 and she moved to the Grant rest home in May 1991. She was also preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
She is survived by five sons, Wayne of Lincoln, Morris of Maywood, Gaylord of Hastings and Doug and Ron, both of Elsie; two sisters, Arvetta Easterday of Bertrand and Maxine Bennett of Ord; two brothers, Harlan of LaCanada, Calif., and Rex of Omaha; and 13 grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. MST Saturday at the Elsie United Methodist Church with the Rev. Delano Cunningham officiating. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. CST at the Farnam Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
