Charles Edward Jackson

Local Merchant Passed Away Sunday

Charles E. Jackson, passed away at his home here last Sunday evening after an illness of several months.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. C. Barton, former Baptist pastor here. Burial was in the Farnam cemetery.

Charles Edward Jackson was born April 12, 1858 at Pittsfield, Ohio. He departed this life July 14, 1935 at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 2 days.

He was married, Feb. 7, 1882 to Miss Celia Ellen Rice, who departed this life Jan. 19, 1889. He was married to Mary E. Seth, Feb. 19, 1890 and to this union was born four children, Mrs. W. E. Patterson of Gothenburg; Mrs. A. E. Smith of Kearney, and Rollon E. of Phillipsburg, Kan. and Elmer now deceased.

Mr. Jackson homesteaded south of Farnam about 48 years ago. He worked for some years as a mechanic and was an honored merchant and undertaker in Farnam for many years.

He will be missed from the walks of life by the citizens of Farnam and community as well as by the bereaved family.
