Lillie May Hurshman
Lillie May Johnson, daughter of Owen and Charlotta Johnson, was born June 3, 1877 in Jones County, Iowa, and departed this life March 12, 1960 at Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 9 days.
In childhood she moved with her parents to Frontier County Nebraska.
July 5, 1898 Lillie was united in marriage to William H. Hobbs. Mr. Hobbs died August 4, 1915.
Lillie Hobbs continued to live on the farm near her brother, George. He and his sons helped her with the farm work.
On March 5, 1917 Lillie was united in marriage to William Hurshman. Mr. Hurshman preceeded her in death November 16, 1952.
Lillie had no children of her own, but she loved children. She manifested this in her kindness to her nephews and nieces. She also gave her love and comforts of home to a foster daughter.
Lillie lived in Frontier County until 3 years ago when she and her sister, Grace Johnson, went to the St. Luke's home at Kearney, Nebraska, to make their home.
She is survived by one sister, Grace, of Kearney; seven brothers, George of Worland, Wyo.; Edward and Owen of Derby, Colo.; Ervin and Clarence of Brush, Colo.; Sylvester and Arthur of Pueblo, Colo.
Two brothers and one sister preceeded her in death.
Lillie enjoyed fellowship with her family and friends, and deeply appreciated the many expressions of kindnesses shown to her.
She was patient in suffering and accepted gratefully those who ministered to her physically and spiritually.
