Obituary Collection
Georgia Marie Hines

Georgia Marie Hines was born in Worth county, Missouri on July 21, 1904 and died at her home north west of Farnam on December 5th, 1922, age eighteen years, four months and seventeen days.

She spent most of her life in Worth, Missouri, which was her home until in February, 1920 she moved with her parents to Farnam where she has lived since.

She entered the Freshman class of Farnam high school in the spring of 1920. She was always very conscientious and (a) willing student and attended to her school work faithfully as her health would permit. She won for herself many dear friends among her teachers and schoolmates here.

Her highest ambition was to graduate from the high school so that she could enter the profession of teaching and it was her greatest burden that she was unable to attend to her school work regularly.

She has suffered from leakage of the heart since she was seven years of age, but after moving to Farnam her health seemed to be improving until about a year ago, when she was injured in a runaway while coming from school. Since then her health has been steadily failing but, despite all this she began her senior year in high school this fall. hoping to be able to graduate in the spring. Three weeks ago she was forced to discontinue her work for a time, intending to go back to school as soon as she better but, "He who doeth all things well" saw fit to take her out of her suffering, and called her to himself on Tuesday morning, December fifth.

She was a member of the Young People's Class of the Methodist Sunday school and always had the desire to attend the church services, although she was unable to do so much of the time.

She leaves to mourn her sad departure, her mother and father, four sisters, three brothers, one brother having died in infancy, a grandfather and grandmother, four uncles and hosts of friends who will sadly miss her sweet smile and patient face."

Farnam Echo, 15 Dec 1922.
