Francis Arthur Hilton was born in Wisconsin, October 16, 1858. He passed to his reward on December 1, 1938, at the age of 80 years, one month, 15 days.

In 1885 he came to Nebraska and on December 29, 1887, he was united in marriage to Sarah Murry of Seward. They lived at Cordova, Neb. until 1893, when they moved to Gothenburg, Neb. Soon after they homesteaded near Farnam, Neb. until the year of 1931, when they moved to Lexington, Neb., and 4 years later he went to make his home at his daughter’s, Mrs. Albert Devine of Cozad, until he passed away.

His wife passed to her reward on March 25, 1931. He loved children and enjoyed his grandchildren very much.

In 1931, he joined the Methodist Episcopal church in Lexington.

Those left to mourn his departure are one daughter, Mrs. Albert Devine; five sons, Charles Clarence of Victor, Calif., John Henry of Ogallala, Neb., Elmer Ray of Farnam, Albert Harry of Sutherland and Roy William of Lexington; fourteen grandsons; five granddaughters, one great granddaughter and many other relatives and friends.

Let faith exalt her joyful voice and now in triumph sing; Oh grave where is thy victory? and where, O death thy sting?

Funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Farnam, Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., Rev. F. H. Johnson officiating.

The Farnam Echo, 35(14):1 Thursday, December 8, 1938
