Lois B. Hess, 66, died June 14, 1995, at her home near Farnam.

She was born Jan. 7, 1929, at Alliance to Dewey and Amy Niles Jackman. She graduated from Chadron State College and was a public school teacher for 33 years, including 18 in the Farnam school district. She retired in 1990. She married Gilbert Hess Aug. 19, 1970, at Holdrege.

She was an emergency medical technician with the Farnam rescue squad, was active in the bloodmobile and taught CPR classes.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Barbara Purintun of Maui, Hawaii; a brother, Virgil Jackman of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist church in Farnam with the Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Central Plains Hospice.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg, which is in charge of arrangements.
