Services for Sam Heath

Samuel Heath, 75, a resident of the Farnam community until recently, when he and his wife moved to Gothenburg, passed away Sunday morning. He had a suffered a heart attack several weeks ago.

Sam had been a employee of the Village of Farnam for many years until he moved to a farm west of Farnam.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. in the McVay-Olesen Funeral Chapel in Gothenburg with Rev. Alden Lynch officiating.

Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

Obituary

Samuel C. Heath, eldest son of Eli and Clara Heath was born at Millrock, Iowa October 26, 1886 and passed away at Gothenburg, Nebraska, March 25, 1962 at the age of 76 years.

When he was about a year old his parents came to Moorefield, Nebraska to work on the railroad and filed on a homestead. Later years this homestead was part of Sam’s farm home. From 1917 to his retirement in 1946 he was manager of the Light and Power plant at Farnam, Nebraska. In May of 1942 he was united in marriage to Lila Mauer at Holdrege and they made their home at Farnam. In 1946 he moved to the farm where he spent the remainder of his life.

Mr. Heath was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Lila, and one brother, Roy Heath, of Farnam, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m. in the McVay-Olesen Funeral Chapel in Gothenburg, Rev. Alden Lynch officiating.

Mrs. Delores Nickerson and Mrs. Audrey Kotschwar sang, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Smith. Pallbearers were: Gerald Thompson, Rex Ealy, Glen Wintermute, E. B. Lewis, Charles Pollard, and O. L. Hudson.

Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
