FARNAM — Evelyn M. Hazen, 89, died Jan. 8, 1995, at Slack Nursing Home in Gothenburg.

She was born Oct. 6, 1905, in Dunbar to August and Minnie Smallfoot. She moved with her family to a farm northeast of Farnam in 1920. She married Andrew Hazen March 21, 1929, at Stockville. They lived south of Farnam until the early 1960s. He preceded her in death March 1, 1965.

Mrs. Hazen had lived at Slack Nursing Home since 1980. She attended United Methodist Church in Farnam for many years.

Survivors include two sons, Virgil (Jan) of Arlington, Texas, and John (Donna) of Farnam; ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters and 10 brothers.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Farnam with the Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Visitation will be today and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg, which is in charge of arrangements.
