Gus Gaudreault
Gustave Isaie Gaudreault was born December 18, 1889, at Saint-Ignace de Stanbridge, Canada, the son of Antone Gaudreau and Emma Cloatre Gaudreau. He came to the United States as a young man living near Campbell and Culbertson, Nebraska, before coming to the Farnam community.
He was united in marriage to Mary Alice Crampton of Farnam on March 7, 1916, in Curtis. To this union was born two sons, Charles and Marcus. The family has always lived and farmed in the Farnam community. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Marcus Del, in 1959 and his wife, Mary, in 1960.
Gus spent his last 5 years in the Sunset Haven Rest Home in Curtis
where he passed away on March 11, 1976, at the age of 86 years.
He is survived by two sons, Charles of Gothenburg, Marcus of Farnam,
one grandson, Don Laverne of Farnam, two great grand children, two
brothers, two sisters, five step daughters, Mrs. Sue Fiess, Mrs. Lois
Herring, Mrs. Kathleen Stack, Mrs. Mozelle Elmore and Mrs. Zelma Gaudreault, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Farnam United Methodist Church on
Monday, March 15, 1976, at 2 p.m. with the Pastor, the Rev. Leonard S.
Clark officiating.
Music was furnished by Mrs, Evelyn Davis at the piano, and Mrs. Audrey Kotschwar and Mrs. Deloras Bunstock who brought vocal music. Pallbearers included Vernon Brouillette, Gilbert Hess, Clyde Kotschwar, Leon Kotschwar, John Schurr and Orville Widick.
Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery. Wetzel Funeral Home of Curtis
was in charge of the arrangements.
