Obituary Collection
Alfred Friesenborg

Alfred Friesenborg, 75, a lifetime Gothenburg area resident, died September 8, 1994. He was born April 26, 1917 in Gothenburg to Oke and Mary Aden Friesenborg.

He married Geneva L. Gaibler on December 1, 1939, at Lexington. They farmed until 1949 in the Farnam area when they moved to Gothenburg. He worked for Friesenborg and Sons, delivering fuel until 1961, and then Monroe Auto Equipment from 1961 until retirement in 1985.

Mr. Friesenborg was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bob (Judy) and Don (Sharon), both of Gothenburg; a brother, Arnold of Sutherland,; five step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his wife on March 16, 1993, an infant daughter, a brother and two sisters.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Gothenburg with the Rev. Steven Todd officiating. Burial was in the Farnam Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to the church. McVay Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
