C. Fred Franzen
C. Fred Franzen, son of William and Catherine Franzen, was born at Holyoke, Colorado, on December 23, 1899, and passed away at St. Frances hospital in Grand Island, where he had been a patient for three weeks, on April 9, 1951, at the age of 51 years, 3 months and 17 days.
He moved to Farnam, Nebraska, with his parents in the spring of 1900 and spent his entire life in the community northeast of town.
He was baptized June 14, 1900, at the Lutheran church in Eustis.
Fred was never too busy to lend a helping hand to any neighbor or friend who needed him. He will be greatly missed by relatives and friends who knew and admired his friendly help. He especially enjoyed his nephew, Donnie Lee, with whom he spent as much time as possible.
He leaves to mourn his death his sister, Sophia Soller of Gothenburg and his brother John of Farnam and other relatives and friends. His mother and father preceded him in death, the mother in 1939 and the father in 1922.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Farnam Thursday afternoon, under the supervision of the Olesen funeral home. Rev. Otto A. Quaife, pastor of the church, was in charge of the services.
Interment was in Farnam cemetery.
