Obituary Collection
Mary A. Fitch

Mrs. H. E. Fitch died at her home here in Farnam, Thursday morning, her death was very sudden and unexpected, as she had been sick with pneumonial fever, but a few days, and, late Wednesday evening she was reported as better, but was taken worse, Thursday morning, and died very suddenly. She leaves a son 12 years of age and five step children to mourn her loss. Funeral services will be held Sunday. Jennie, the daughter, was visiting relatives in Ohio and Michigan and could not be summoned home until after her mother's death; She will probably arrive today. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to these children in their bereavement.

OBITUARY

The stream is calmest when it nears the tide,
And flowers are sweetest at the even— tide;
And birds most musical at close of day,
And saints divinest when they pass away.

Mary A. Fitch was born Aug. 19 1851, her maiden name was Harding, she was married to Horace Fitch at Olmstead Falls Ohio March 31 1883, Died–Jan, 28 1904, at 4 A. M. The funeral services were conducted Sunday at eleven A. M. from the Congregational church by the paster J. E. Craig, she leaves one son and five step children to mourn her departure, who have our sympathy and prayers in this sad hour.

She was a believer in the teachings of Christ and tried to translate them into her life.

She will be missed in the Congregational Church, where she helped by her presence and her labour to carry on God’s work. Our L. A. Society will miss her smiling face and kind words.

She was loved and respected by all and leaves a great company of friends.

We shall miss a thousand times along lifes weary track,
Not a sorrow or a joy, but we shall long to call thee back.
Yearn for thy true and tender heart, long thy bright smile to see;
For many dear and true are left, but none are quite like thee,
Not upon us or ours the solemn angel hath evil wrought,
The funeral anthem is a glad evangel; the good die not;
God calls our loved ones, but we lose not wholly, what he has given;
They live in thought and deed as truly as in His heaven.
