Earl Edson
Earl Edson passed away Sunday in a Holdrege hospital after a lingering illness.
Earl farmed southwest of Farnam at the time of his death.
For a number of years he lived in and around Farnam, farming and was also employed by the Farnam Co-op Oil Co. He was employed by Debus Baking Co. for a time and lived at Lexington.
In the half a century which Earl lived he made many friends and shall long be remembered by his even temperment.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, at the Farnam Methodist Church, with Rev. Harold O. Massie officiating.
Mrs. Elvin Piersol and Dale Montgomery sang, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Smith.
Pallbearers were Dean Reynolds, Clayton Heath, Ellis Widick, Forrest Johnson, Raymond Hansen and Anton Kotschwar.
Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

Obituary
Earl Edson, a resident of the Farnam community for about 37 years, passed away September 25, 1960 at Holdrege, Nebraska after an illness of about six months. He attained the age of 50 years and 2 days.
Mr. Edson was the son of Mr. and Mrs. I. R. Edson. He was born September 23, 1910 at Ravenna, Nebraska. He moved to the Farnam community with his parents in the year 1921. He was engaged in the occupation of farming
He was united in marriage to Miss Mildred Hicks on November 28, 1934. This marriage was blessed with three daughters. Soon after their marriage they established their home on a farm south of Farnam where they lived at the time of his death.
Mr. Edson was brought to the Lord in Baptism in October 1910 at the Cedar Creek Lutheran Church at Poole, Nebraska. After receiving religious instruction he was received into the confirmed membership of the Lutheran Church by Confession of Faith and the rite of Confirmation in 1922 in the Lutheran Church then located at Moorefield, Nebraska. Soon after his marriage he affiliated with the Methodist Church of Farnam where he was a member at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife Mildred, of Farnam; three daughters, Mrs. Don Heath, of Farnam, Mrs. Wendell Glidewell of Denver, Colo. and Miss Audrey Edson of Kearney; two brothers, George of Farnam and Roscoe of Fremont; four sisters, Mrs. Willis Stevenson and Mrs. Herman Schultheiss, both of Hershey; Mrs. Les Craig of Gothenburg, and Mrs. George Carmin of Douglas, Wyoming. And many other relatives and friends.
He was a kind, loving and understanding husband and father. The memories of his loving care will especially be cherished by his family.
