Carson Ezra Davis
Carson E. Davis was born in Hamburg, Iowa, November 21, 1873. He departed this life January 20, 1933 at Farnam, Nebraska; age 59 years, 1 month and 28 days.
He came to Nebraska with his parents when about ten years of age. The family located on a farm near Elgin. Here he lived until early manhood, at which time the family moved to Syracuse, Nebraska.
In 1897 he married Ora A. Shull of Syracuse. Of the four children who blessed this union one died in infancy, Harland and Charles live on farms near Farnam and Marguerite Messersmith lives near Quick, Nebraska.
Mr. and Mrs. Davis lived near Syracuse on the farm until 1912 when he sold out in Otoe county and bought a farm a mile and a half from Farnam. Here the family lived until 1929 when Mr. and Mrs. Davis left the home place. At the time of his death they were living on a farm three miles southeast of Farnam.
Mr. Davis is survived by his three brothers, George, Arthur and Clarence, all of California; also by his wife, three children, two grandchildren and many other relatives. Many true friends in each community where he has lived.
His passing after a very short illness came as a severe shock to the family and community.
Mr. Davis will be remembered by his many friends as a conservative farmer whose friendly counsel was welcomed by so many. It is hard for the home and community to become reconciled to his untimely death.
He was a faithful member of the Methodist church, and his unwavering faith led him to smile his way through all conditions, to the very end.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church by Rev. C. R. Tanner. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.
