Gordon Cross

FARNAM - Gordon Cross, 82, of Farnam died June 21, 2006, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1923, near Ingham to Fred R. and Pearl F. Mosley Cross.

He grew up in the Moorefield and Ingham areas graduating from Moorefield High School in 1941. Shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps from May 1945 to March of 1946. On Aug. 23, 1943, he married Gladys May Nickerson in Oberlin, Kan. He was a farmer/rancher in the Moorefield area before moving to Farnam in 1969. He continued raising livestock until his health failed in the past few years.

Gordon enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ranching.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Cross of Farnam; three daughters, Virginia "Ginger" (Keith) Norby of Moorefield, Coleen (Tom) Davis of Lincoln, and Vickie Elson of North Platte; two sons, Deloit (Carol) Cross of Moorefield and Jimmy (LuAnn) Snow of Fillmore, Utah; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Audrey Kotschwar of Farnam; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Katherine Cross; a grandson, Terry Taylor; a sister, Deloras Bunstock; two brothers, Theron and Roland Cross.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Farnam Cemetery.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Blase Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.
