Obituary Collection
Norlin T. Cooper

Gothenburg -- Norlin T. Cooper, 58, of North Platte, died October 11, 1994 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

He was born October 28, 1935 in Tecumseh to Otho and Merlin Severin Cooper. A 1955 graduate of Grand Junction (Colorado) High school, he also graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1950.

On June 8, 1958, he married June Martin at Farnam.

Mr. Cooper taught vocational agriculture in Red Cloud Public Schools and Iowa schools for 15 years; operated Big Johns Restaurant and Lounge in North Platte for five years and began driving for Mayflower Trucking in 1984.

Survivors include his wife, June of North Platte; a daughter, Kimberly (Bradley) Johnson of North Platte; two sons, Shelby (Susan) and Tracy, both of Austin, Texas; his mother and stepfather; Merlin and Don Schlem of North Platte; two brothers, Eber of Schuylet and Muir of Lincoln; two sisters, Beth Hanson of North Platte and Majel Avers of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and three granddaughters.

His father preceded him in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at McVay Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg. Burial will be in the Farnam Cemetery.

A memorial has been established.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

McVay Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
