Irvin "Nick" Conover
Irwin Nichalos [sic] Conover was born in New Jersey February 19, 1859. He came to Nebraska early in life and in 1886 was united in marriage to Mary Hiestand at Juniata. To this union were born two children, a son, Glen Ellis, who gave his life for his country in the first World war; and a daughter, Lena, who was residing with her father at the time of his death.
He passed away suddenly Thursday morning at his home in Farnam at the age of 87 years, 10 months, and 13 days. As his wife and son have preceded him in death, he leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Lena Jackson, one granddaughter, one great granddaughter, other relatives and friends.
He was a well known resident of Farnam having lived in this community for sixty years. He leaves a record of having been a good friend, a welcome neighbor, and a kind and considerate father.
Funeral services were held at the Farnam Baptist church Saturday afternoon with Rev. Stanley Malmgren officiating and under direction of the Chester Hugo funeral home. The music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pollard and Mr. and Mrs. Dan McNickle, who were accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Lila Heath. The pallbearers were Hugo Blomquist, Burr Parker, Wayne Parker, John Ragau, Jack Martin and Bud Hathaway. Burial was in Farnam cemetery.
