Glenn E. Conover Dead
A telegram was received Tuesday morning, officially announcing the death in France of Glenn E. Conover, November 4th, cause of death is said to be influenza and bronchial pneumonia.

Glenn Conover was born January 9, 1892 near Farnam to I. N. and Mary (Hiestand) Conover. He attended country school districts nos. 3 and 59 in Frontier county along with his sister, Lena, and finished school in Farnam after the family moved to town around 1906. He graduated from Grand Island Business College and took employment in Omaha with Booth Fisheries Company and Paxton & Gallagher Company.
Glenn was inducted into the U.S. Army at Omaha on September 18, 1917. On April 1, 1918 he was assigned to Company A 114th Machine Gun Battalion which belonged to the 59th Brigade, 30th Division. The battalion shipped out for France from New York on the transport ship Elpenor on May 11, 1918.
On September 6, 1918 Glenn's mother passed away at Farnam.
The 30th Division was engaged in the Somme Offensive in September and October, 1918. Glenn succumbed to pneumonia on November 4, 1918 and is buried at Somme American Cemetery near Bony, France.
