Services were held on Saturday for Mrs. Josephine Clement, a former resident of Farnam, a former resident of Farnam, who passed away at Antioch, Calif., on Tuesday, March 19, 1974. Born in Eustis on August 27, 1890, she was 84.

Rev. Hugh H. Houchin of the First United Methodist Church of Gothenburg, was the officiating pastor in the McVay Funeral Chapel. Music was by Bernard Ristine as soloist, with Mrs. Harry Ostergard as accompanist.

Pallbearers were Russell Clement, Oliver Holbein, James Robinson, Roderick Clement, Loren Nabor and Richard McDaniel. Interment was in Farnam Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons: Morris of Antioch and Benjamin of North Platte; a daughter, Emma, Mrs. Walter Holbein of Eustis; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Helen Clement of Farnam; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Josephine Hirschmiller was united in marriage on Dec. 23, 1908, to Oliver K. Clement of Farnam and to the union were born four sons and one daughter. They made their home near Farnam until 1936, when they moved to Bakersfield, Calif., and in 1942 they moved to Antioch.

Josie was a baptized member of the Baptist Church, was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Antioch.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1954. One son, Burt, died in infancy, and another, Ralph Clement, passed away in 1971.
