MRS. EUGENE CEDER DIES FOLLOWING A SHORT ILLNESS

Mrs. Eugene Ceder, one of the old residents of this community, died at her home in Farnam, Tuesday morning March 21, 1922, after a brief illness from heart trouble and influenza.

Retta Lenora Fitch was born [to Hudson and Abigail (Wilson) Fitch] at Olmsted Falls, Ohio, August 3, 1856. On October 5, 1874 she was united in marriage to Edward D. Hayden of that place, and to this union five children were born, two of whom preceded her in death. She came to Dawson county in 1885 and has been a resident of Farnam since that time. In November 1895 she was united in marriage to Eugene Ceder of this place, who preceded her in death January 21, 1922.

She leaves to mourn her loss two daughters, Mrs. Mavis Brittan, Decatur, Iowa; Mrs. Bessie Redford, Kansas City, Mo.; one son, Claude D. Hayden, Curtis, Nebr., and other relatives and a host of friends. She was a woman of sunny disposition, a kind and loving mother and greatly loved by all who knew her. Her smiling ways will long be missed. She was a member of the Episcopal church since 1892.

Funeral services, conducted by Bishop Beecher of the Episcopal church of Hastings, were held at the house Thursday and interment was made in the Farnam cemetery.
