Obituary Collection
Mrs. A. B. Carman Dies
Following Brief Illness

Bessie A. Bodenhamer was born at Liberty, Gage County, Nebraska, November 4, 1882. She came with her parents to Stockville, Nebraska, when a small child and spent her childhood life there.

She was united in marriage to Arnold B. Carman, August 1, 1898. They lived at Stockville until 1905, when they moved to Farnam, Nebraska where she spent the remainder of her life.

To this union were born five children, Raymond, who passed away in infancy; Hester Gewecke, Farnam; Willard B., Boston, Mass.; Ruth Gish, Custer, So. Dak.; Richard J., Boston, Mass.

Her parents preceded her a number of years in death.

Afer an illness of two and a half days she passed away at her home Nov. 7th, 1936 at the age of 54 years and 2 days.

She was a wonderful wife and mother and no tribute high enough can be paid to her thoughtfulness of her family. Her life was lived with only the thought of being able to do something for others. Her smile and willing hands will be missed by all who knew her.

Leaving to mourn her passing are her husband, four children, six grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters.

I cannot say, and I will not say
That she is dead, she is just away!
With a cheery smile and a wafe of the hand
She has wondered into an unknown land.
Think of her faring on, as dear
In the Love of There, as the Love of Here.
Think of her still as the same, I say,
She is not dead, she is just away.

Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday, Nov. 10th, 1936 at 2:00 o’clock conducted by Rev. Samuel McKeown. Burial was in the Farnam cemetery.
