OBITUARY

David W. Brooks, youngest son of Sylvester and Mary Brooks, was born in Harrison county, Mo., on September 14, 1865, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arvid Banks, in Farnam on October 11, 1949, at the age of 84 years and 26 days.

When a small boy he moved with his parents to Harlan county and lived there three years, then to Nuckolls county and to Webster county where he grew to manhood. In 1885 he moved to Frontier Co.

He was converted in February, 1896, and joined the Methodist church.

March 3, 1898, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Emma Bowlin Mitchell and to this union was born four children, Madora Fern Banks of Farnam, Cecil Floyd Brooks, deceased, Florence Mary Best of McCook and Carl Bowlin Brooks of Middletwon, Ohio.

He leaves to mourn his passing 3 children; 2 grandchildren, John Brooks Best and James Carl Best, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. C. R. Tanner, Rev. T. B. Gray and Rev. L. D. Compton officiating. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.
