R. J. Brock Obituary

Robert Joseph Brock, son of William Walker and Elizabeth (Wehrman) Brock was born near Stockville, in Frontier County on February 26, 1893, and departed this life in North Platte November 7, 1951. He had reached the age of 58 years 8 months and 11 days.

In the year of 1904 the family moved to the Farnam Vicinity.

After the fathers death in 1907, the family moved to Farnam. Bob felt it was his duty and remained in the home with his mother until her death in 1945.

For a number of years he engaged in farming and later in custom work.

About twelve years ago his health began to be afflicted with asthma and it develped to a critical stage. He suffered intensely at times in spite of much medical treatment. However, he bore it patiently but with great determination to get well.

Determined to regain health he recently went to Biloxi, Missippi to an asthma clinic. The trip proved too strenuous. After his return to Farnam, he was taken to the home of Mrs. Etta Weaver where he was given the best of care.

He is survived by three brothers: Edward, William, and Ivan of Farnam. Two sisters: Mrs. Ethel Ochs of Hartford, Wisconsin and Mrs. Edna Toberer of Eustis. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Miss Anna Klein, a true, close friend of many years will also sadly miss him.

His father, mother, three sisters: Florence Hurshman, Grace Murray, and Mable Patterson and also his youngest brother, Everett, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Farnam Sunday afternoon with Rev. Otto A. Quaife, paster in charge. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Pollard and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hess with Mrs. Raymond Smith at the piano. Casket bearers were John Rowland, Ray Blackwood, Ernie Lewis, Burr Parker, Owen Thompson and Lee Hudson. Olsen funeral home conducted the services. Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.
