MRS ED BROCK PASSED AWAY WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Ed Brock passed away Wednesday night after a lingering illnses, [sic.] which had caused her much suffering the past few months. She was a long time resident of this community.

INEZ MAY BROCK

Inez May Metcalf was born September 19, 1885 at Wymore, Nebraska, in Gage County, and passed suddenly away at her home in Farnam, Nebraska November 9, 1960 at the age of 75 years, one month and 20 days.

She came with her parents to Frontier County in the early nineties, and grew to womanhood near Stockville.

On February 19, 1906 Inez was united in marriage to Edward H Brock of Farnam. They made there [sic.] home on a farm near Farnam all of their married life.

In July, 1927, Inez and Ed welcomed their neice [sic.], Frances, as a small child, into their home and lovingly reared her to womanhood.

On February 19, 1956, they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at their home.

Although her health has failed rapidly for the past two years, she remained cheerful and thoughtful of others. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all.

Preceding her in death are her parents; one sister, Elsie; and two brothers, Dewey and Charles.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband Edward; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Ralston of Stockville; one sister Mrs. Nellie Whellan, of Fort Collins, Colo.; one brother, Marion Metcalf of Cozad; six grandchildren, several neices [sic.] and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Farnam Methodist Church with Rev. Harold O. Massie officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Pollard, Mrs. Alvin Peirsol and Mr. Arvid Banks sang, accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Smith. Pallbearers were: Herman Rieker, Lawrence Oberg, Charley Davis, Claude Clement, Elwood Brown, and Alvin Smallfoot.

Interment was in the Farnam Cemetery.

McVay-Olsen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.


CARD OF THANKS

We wish to express our sincere thanks to our friends, relatives and neighbors for the many cards, floral offerings, memorial funds[,] food, and the many other acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy during the illness and death of our loved one.

We also want to thank the ladies of the Farnam Methodist Church who served us dinner at the church, and Rev. Harold O. Massie for visits and assistance.
