Allen Kenworthy Boyle
Died-Thursday, Jan. 28th, 1897, Allen Kenworthy Boyle, aged 1 year, 5 months and 15 days, after an illness of but a few days The spirit of little Allen winged its flight to that land of glory: that beautiful home, just over the river, that narrow river, the stream of death. But amidst the gloom and pain of parting thus early with the treasure God had permitted them to fold to their hearts for so short a time, there comes a holy light a sweetness, yes, even joy, to the crushed hearts of loving father, mother, brother, relatives and friends, that the parting, though severe, indeed, was surrounded by a halo of Glory, in truth that it is to be short duration, for soon, ah, yes, soon will they again behold their precious little one, where parting can never come more, and where all tears shall be wiped away, and the sorrow of this present hour, shall be lost in the rapture of the blessed reunion and the smile from the Master's face: and the fond hearts of these loved ones, while bowed beneath the great weight of sorrow, rejoice that sweet little Allen is safe with him who said, "Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of heaven," and that one of their own number, the little pet lamb of the fold, is safe at home freed from all danger and toil, all sorrow and pain, all temptation and sin; and many who looked upon the beautiful, still, little face of the dead, felt, indeed, "Let my rest be as his, Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. I shall go to him, but he shall never return to me."
A little flower of beauty rare
Was planted in the garden below:
But too pure was it, too tender and fair,
For the storms of earth to know.
And the King in His great and wonderous love,
With His truest and tenderest care,
Transplanted this blossom to His garden above,
To dwell with Him evermore there.
