Mary Nelson Blomquist was born in Boden, Sweden, August 5, 1870; came to Howard county, Nebraska, July 14, 1893. She was married to John P. Blomquist, December 16, 1893. To this union were born eight children; six boys and two girls; two died in infancy, the six living are Alfred, Emil, Lillie, Hugo, Allis and Clyde; also Antonia Johnson, who made her home with them since she was seven years old.

Mr. and Mrs. Blomquist and family came to Dawson county, Nebraska, in February, 1908, locating on the farm five miles northeast of Farnam, at which place she died October 12, 1917. She leaves to mourn, a husband, six children, an aged mother, one brother and four sisters living in Sweden, and two sisters living in Minnesota. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Monday, October 15 by Rev. T. E. Gillet, pastor. Interment being made in the Farnam cemetery.
