Bonnie Betz
Bonnie J. Betz, 81, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died September 12, 2021 at Hilltop Estates with her husband at her side.
She was born May 8, 1940 at the Farnam Hospital, daughter of Joy and Beulah Russell. She attended Farnam High School and graduated with the class of 1960. After graduation, she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Karl Betz at the Dawson county courthouse on May 26, 1960. They were married for 61 years and blessed with three children; William Lynn "Willy", Connie Jean, and Judy Zoe.
Bonnie supported Bill as they farmed in rural Eustis until 1980, they then moved into Eustis and later on they moved to Lexington before settling in Gothenburg. As her health declined, she moved into Emerald Care Center in Cozad. In January of 2020, she moved to Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg to be with her husband.
She enjoyed sewing in her free time, as well as doll collecting. Other adventures included operating a second hand store as well. Bonnie was never short of a smile on her face and hugs to extend to others. After going to Hilltop, she loved bingo days. She always let the family know not to come visit during bingo.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Bill of 61 years, three children; son, Willy (Kay) Betz of Houston, TX, daughter, Connie (Jay) Huber of Cozad, and daughter Judy (Alan) Babcock of Honolulu, HI; six grandchildren, Ryan (Erika) Huber of Ashland, NE, Jessica Betz (Jon Bittick) of Houston, TX, Dallas (Karina) Huber of Westminster, CO, Amy Babcock of Honolulu, HI, Nathan Betz of Ralston, NE and Wesley Babcock of Honolulu, HI, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She will be missed by family and friends especially for her beautiful smile!
Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, September 19, 2021, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm with the family present.
Funeral services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Monday, September 20, 2021 at 10:00 am with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating.
Interment will follow in the Farnam Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family for later designation.
