Raymond Bellamy

Ray Bellamy Passed Away Monday

Raymond Bellamy, a resident of the Moorefield community for the past 42 years, passed away Monday morning at his home.

Mr. and Mrs. Bellamy lived and farmed southeast of Moorefield until they moved to the Village of Moorefield 6 or 7 years ago.

Services were held at the Union Church at Moorefield, on Wednesday, December 12th at 2:00 P.M.

Reverend B.H. Hart of Cozad officiating. Burial was in the Farnam Cemetery.

Mrs. Delores Nickerson and Mrs. Audrey Kotschwar sang, accompanied by Mrs. Crystal Wasley.

Pallbearers were his six sons: William, Horace, Noble, Kenneth, Jack and Robert.

McVay - Olesen Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.

Obituary

Raymond Earl Bellany, son of William and Anna Bellamy, was born June 7, 1889 at Smithfield, Nebraska and passed away at his home at Moorefield, Nebraska on December 10, 1962, at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 3 days.

He resided near Smithfield until his marriage on June 23, 1911. He was united in marriage to Hazel Coker of Illinois.

To this union 9 children were born; 8 of whom survive; Maurice of Bartley, Horace of Cambridge, Noble of Farnam, Mable and Harriet of Rupert, Idaho, Kenneth of Farnam, and Jack and Joe of Elwood.

The first 9 years of his married life was spent in Gosper and Phelps counties. In 1950 the family moved to the Moorefield community where he spent the rest of his days.

Besides his wife and children, he leaves 1 brother, Art of Sedalia, Missouri, 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.
