Obituary Collection
Dora (Peters) Beisner

Dora Peters was born at Hanover, Germany, May 4, 1839 and died in her home in Farnam, Nebraska, April 5, 1921, age 81 years, eleven months and one day. She has been a sufferer for many months and her only desire was that the Lord would remove her from the earthly tabernacle to the Heavenly, where she would be free from sorrow and pain. She spoke many times of her hope in meeting with her Savior and many loved ones that preceded her to the other world, and gave evidence of her acceptance with her blessed Savior. She also spoke of the many seasons of prayer and sweet fellowship with God and her desire was to be at rest with Him who said, "I go to prepare a place for you".

She united with the Lutheran church at the age of fourteen, and those who knew her found in her the life of a Christian.

She was married to Henry J. Beisner in February, 1861. To this union nine children were born, four of whom survive her. They are, Mrs. Carrie Beye of Farnam, Nebraska; Mrs. Minnie Patterson of Farnam, Nebraska; Henry Beisner of North Platte, Nebraska and August Beisner of North Platte, Nebraska. Five children preceded her to the great beyond.

She moved from Hanover, Germany, to Hebron, Nebraska, then to a homestead in Frontier county, nine miles south of Farnam, where her husband departed this life April 30, 1910.

She leaves to mourn, four children; a sister, Mrs. William Stemile of Omaha, Nebraska; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, besides her many friends, and neighbors.

The funeral services were from the Methodist church Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. T. E. Gilet, pastor. Interment was in the Farnam cemetery.
