Walter V. Babcock
Walter Varien Babcock was born in Rock county, Wisconsin, March 27, 1860, and departed this life Jan. 3, 1931, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 6 days.
He came to Richardson county, Nebraska at the age of fifteen years. He was one of the early pioneers to this section of the country, having come thirty-five years ago last March, where he resided on the same place, west of Farnam all of that time.
One brother and two sisters have preceded him to the Great Beyond.
He leaves to mourn his death, one brother and two sisters. Martin V. of Farnam, Mary L. of Nortonville, Kansas and Ella R. of Hastings. Eleven nephews and six nieces besides a host of friends and neighbors.
The funeral was held at the Baptist church, in charge of Rev. E. C. Barton. Burial was made in the Farnam cemetery.
The out of town relatives, who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Francis Babcock of Table Rock, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Woolstrum of Grainton, Nebr., Clarence Babcock and Fidell Davis of North Loup, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Homer Davison of Moorefield, Nebr.
