William Porter Austin
William Porter Austin was born in Morgan county, Illinois,
January 3, 1855 and died at his home in Farnam, Nebraska, July
27, 1919; age 64 years, 7 months and 24 days.
He was united in marriage to Emma Lee Anderton, November 26,
1874. To this union were born seven children, three boys and
four girls; Daisy Craig of Brady Island; Irvin Austin of Curtis;
Eleanor Craig of Brady Island; George Austin of Farnam; Ira
Austin of Lingle, Wyo; Ina Rowland and Edith Pollard of Farnam.
He moved to Nebraska in 1887 where he took a homestead 12 miles
northwest of Farnam, and in 1907 moved to Farnam where he
resided until his death.
In 1907, he united with the Methodist Episcopal church of which
he was a continuous member.
He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, seven children four
brothers, two sisters and thirteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday
afternoon, July 28 at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Scholky of
Curtis. Interment was at the Farnam cemetery.
