Death of Mrs. J. W. Armitage at Home in David City
Mrs. J. W. Armitage, who moved to David City two months ago, Mr. Armitage being in employ of the Union Pacific Railway company, passed away at her home at 719 Eleventh street at 6 o’clock Monday evening, April 21, in her 42d year. She had been in failing health for some time and her last illness was of six months duration.
Funeral services and burial were at Farnam at 10 o’clock Wednesday morning.
Hazel Della Hampson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Hampson, was born at Farnam October 2, 1899. She was married at Stockville on July 18, 1919, to J. W. Armitage. To them were born seven children of whom one son died in infancy. The children who with their father survive are Eula, Wilma, Donna, Melvin, Robert and Wayne, all at home.
Mrs. Armitage also leaves her father, A. M. Hampson of Farnam; four sisters, Mrs. C. H. Wilson of Watson, Mo., Mrs. Arnold Stapp of Cozad, Mrs. F. F. Rosendahl of Gothenburg and Mrs. J. W. Surber of Idaho; and one brother, Bert Hampson of Farnam. All had visited in the Armitage home recently, as did Mr. Armitage’s sisters, Mrs. W. F. Youree of Gothenburg and Mrs. Newton Miller of Greeley, Colo., the latter here at the present time.
