Harold Adkisson
Harold Adkisson, 75, of Farnam died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1987,
at the Kearney hospital. He was born July 6, 1912 in Frontier
county to John and Ally (Rose) Adkisson.
Mr. Adkisson grew up south of Farnam and farmed in that area
for many years. From 1959 to 1975, he worked for Wilcox
Implement in Farnam.
He married Mildred McMichael Oct. 22, 1941 at Oberlin,
Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; four sons, Kenneth of
Farnam, Ron of Curtis, and Doug and Scott, both of Cozad; four
sisters, Stella Lehman and Zella Messersmith, both of Farnam,
Lula (Mrs. Merlyn) Stapp of Cambridge and Hazel (Mrs. Jack)
Lilyhorn of Holdrege; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, including his twin
brother, Harry; two sisters and a daughter.
Services were Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 2nd at the United
Methodist Church at Farnam with the Rev. C.W. Leypoldt and Art
Phillips officiating. Burial was in the Farnam Cemetery.
Music was by Tom Oberg, Pansy Keller, and Donna Hazen. Pall
bearers were Vern Brouillette, Bill Widick, Kent Davis, Leon
Kotschwar, Russ Wilcox, Ken Stevens, Rich Derra and John Hazen.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Thomsen, George Lungrin, George
Edson, Bill Hill, Earl Brown, Dick Young, Fred Miller, Paul
Rogers, Bernie Lindvall, Leland Hopkins, Clyde Kotschwar, Wray
Lydic, and Kenneth Johnson.
McVay Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg was in charge of
arrangements.
