The first regular train on the Holdrege branch of the B. & M. railroad, reached Farnam last Wednesday night, about ten o’clock, and the joy of the Farnamites knew no bounds. They met the train with a band and made Rome howl, so to speak. The engineer of the train responded to the music with the shrill whistle of his locomotive. It is thought Farnam will be the terminus of the road for about three months, as there is yet a great deal of heavy work to be done between that point and Curtis.
