LARGE CROWD ATTENDS DEDICATION OF NEW BRIDGE AT FARNAM

Approximately 800 persons enjoyed the dedication program Wednesday evening in the south part of Farnam.

The festivities started at 5 p.m., when a crowd of baseball fans gathered at the high school diamond to watch the Eustis-Farnam game.

Following the game, friends gathered in groups for a real picnic supper on the lawn, which kept everyone busy for some time.

Then on down town, to find the lower end of Main Street packed with cars from the Farnam vicinity and neighboring towns.

John A. Rowland was very capable as master of ceremonies, as was T. H. Lynch, director of the combined Eustis and Farnam bands. The large crowd gathered on and about the bridge to listen to the following program:

Kermit the Hermit and his “hobby” horse wandered around at will during the evening, causing much merriment.

The bridge was then prepared for an old-time dance, which was scarcely under way went a shower came up, bringing an end to the day’s fun.
