Strange Bird Identified
H. B. Taylor sent in a specimen of one of the strange birds which has been staying in this vicinity this past winter, which was killed in the blizzrd, to the State Game, Forestation and Parks Commission at Lincoln, inquiring about it and they inform him that the bird is called a [Pinyon] Jay, and that it is rather uncommon in Nebraska. This bird is similar to the Blue Jay in appearance, but is of a darker blue color and smaller.
The commission is having the specimen, sent in by Mr. Taylor mounted by the University of Nebraska so it may be used for future reference and study.
