Coronation of 1966-1967
After a victorious football game and a homecoming parade, with the "World of Television" as the theme, the crowning of the King and Queen took place. King’s attendants: Roger Koch, Terry Fritz, and Kevin Smallfoot.

An event that is popular in the community is Homecoming. It is held in conjunction with the fall sports activity of football. The program is planned and carried out by the Alumni and Friends Organization. First they choose a theme that is to be carried out in the parade. The parade is made up of the individual students of the elementary grades, high school classes, and various organizations of the town. Prizes are given to the most appropriate entries. After the football game that is then played, there is the coronation. The entire senior class members are the candidates for the king and queen. The junior high and senior high student body select the king and queen by ballot. At the coronation the king and queen are revealed. They are crowned by the former year’s king and queen. The kindergarten class members are the crown bearers and the train bearers. A dance follows the crowning.

During the week of homecoming the students are asked to dress in various ways to show their loyalty and school spirit.

The first homecoming was held in 1950. It began on the morning of October 13th. Students from grade 7 to 12 watched the skits that were put on by some of the student body. Between the skits the king and queen were crowned. Chariot (Davis) Williams was the queen and Forrest Johnson was the king. They were crowned by Kenneth Bellamy, the captain of the football team. Eldon Nickerson and Doris (Bosch) Bellamy were the attendants. Pamela Soundy and Ron Williams were the crown bearers and Arlene Guerin and Fred Jackson were the train bearers. Farnam played Maywood at this first homecoming, winning with a score of forty-six to nothing. The game was played in the afternoon since the field was not equipped with lights at that time. In the evening an Alumni dance was held in the gymnasium.

Homecoming has continued being an annual event in Farnam. There have been a few changes; however, it is still a popular and anticipated event for the students and alumni.
