DEATH COMES AGAIN

John G. Wollam Died Early Monday Morning
After a Short Illness
Paralysis Was Cause of Death.


John G. Wollam, a leading citizen of this community died at his home five miles northeast of Stockville Monday morning about 5:30, after a very short illness, occassioned by a stroke of paralysis received last Thursday evening.

Mr. Wollam had been a resident of Stockville for several years until within the past year when he sold out his general merchandise business and moved to the the farm. He has lived in Frontier county for a number of years and has a great many friends and acquaintenances.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Stockville yesterday afternoon, being conducted by Rev. J. F. Russell. The remains were laid to rest in the Stockville cemetery.

Several from surrounding towns and distant parts of the county attended the funeral. The services were in charge of the Woodment and Workmen lodges and many members from different lodges of these orders were present.

Mr. Wollam was a member of the M. W. A. and the A. O. U. W. and carried $3,000 life insurance in the former order and $2,000 in the Workmen.

He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his loss. The children are Perry and Howard Wollam who live at home and Mrs. C. W. Davison and Mrs. Jesse Earhart, both of whom live in this vicinity. The many friends of the family extend sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

This is the third death in as many weeks in this immediate vicinity, all occurring at about the same hour on Monday morning and the funeral services being conducted on Wednesday.

John G. Wollam was born in Columbia county, Ohio, August 26, 1848. He moved with his parents to Clark county, Missouri, in October 1854, and in 18[6]2 to Van Buren county, Iowa. He was married to Sarah E. Cook, on August 29, 1875. In September 1881 he moved to Filmore county, near Geneva, where he resided about seven years. From there he moved to Ohiowa. He moved to Frontier county, Nebraska, in 1895.

Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wollam, four of whom are living.

He died April 16, 1906, aged fifty-seven years, seven months and ten days.
