I. R. Cross
I. R. Cross, who for several years operated a restaurant in Farnam, passed away at his home in Wiggins, Colo., on Febr. 21, 1936 at the age of 65 years. He was born on October 9, 1872 in Morton precinct, York county, Nebraska and was the first white child born in that precinct. He married Oda M. Wingert at Grand Island on December 12, 1895. Until he took up his residence in Colorado in 1930, he had always made his home in Nebraska. Before coming to Farnam, he lived in the Curtis community for a number of years, being engaged in the mercantile business there. He also lived on a ranch north of Ingham for a number of years.
Mr. Cross was a member of the Methodist church of Wiggins, and was a prominent merchant. Altho he was critically handicapped the last few years with a physical affliction, his associates will always remember him as being friendly and hospitable.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, three sons and one daughter, Leonard H., Wiggins, Colo.; Garwood D., Bellflower, Calif.; William R., Cedarville, Calif.; Mrs. Kenneth Reed, Greeley, Colo.; one brother, three sisters, one half brother, two half sisters and five grandchildren.
