Merton E. Todd, son of Mr. and Mrs. Granville Todd, was born on their home farm about six miles south of Moorefield, on June 27, 1897. He passed away at his home in Curtis, Nebr. on March 28, 1957 at the age of 59 years, nine months and one day.

He resided at his birthplace until December 24, 1919 when he married Esther Johnson. At this time they moved to their own farm not far distant and resided there until moving to Curtis about eighteen years ago.

To this union were born three sons: Lyle Spencer, who passed on at the age of one year; Eldon Merton who was accidentally killed in Honduras at the age of twenty-one, and Dean Wayne, who now resides in Torrington, Wyo.

Mr. Todd is survived by his wife; one son, Dean Wayne; one brother, Vern Todd of Moorefield; two sisters: Mrs. Maude McLaughlin of Curtis, and Mrs. Vella Herndon of Moorefield. Two grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was interred at Moorefield Cemetery with Masonic Services.
